iGEM teams

US_AFRL_CarrollHS: They asked us for feedback on their wiki guide, which is composed of a series of YouTube videos and a PDF with various details and instructions for first-time wiki editors. We evaluated all components of their guide and gave them feedback. On the other hand, they helped us out with our STEM programs by giving us lesson ideas such as extracting DNA from fruit.

UANL: This team shared their knowledge on biosafety that was use full to fill the safety form for iGEM. To go beyond what was required, a risk assessment was done to allow us to be more considerate of those who have the responsibility of handling genetically modified E. coli (the fishermen) and how the use of live bacteria could potentially contaminate our environment and maybe even pose risks to the fishermen. In return, we shared with the UANL team the videos we produced about iGEM and synthetic biology in both English and Spanish so they could expose various communities in Mexico to what we do at iGEM.
